In 1964, what is now Next Generation Ministries (NGM), was created to assist local churches in their effort to engage, save, empower and train young disciples.  Glenn Richmond held the very first CA Convention (Christ Ambassadors Youth Convention). Kids programs (such as Crusaders) as well as AIM (Ambassadors in Mission) teams were created and were all part of the early days. Several new programs and events were developed over time. The largest annual event was CA Convention, then renamed as Youth Convention in the 80’s and was hosted by large churches every May long weekend. Youth Convention was well supported and quickly grew. It was then moved to small hockey arenas in the early 90’s.

Over the years the event has moved from Vernon to Kamloops (Sport Mart Place) from 1995-2006 then to Chilliwack Prospera Center in 2007 and 2008, Langley Events Centre from 2009-2010. Historymaker was then at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre 2011-2012, and Chilliwack's Prospera Centre in 2013 and 2014. During this process the event was opened up to all denominations and to youth and young adults and was renamed Historymaker (HM). As our most catalytic platform each year, HM focuses on inspiring and empowering young people towards leadership and a radical call to creatively live out the mission of God.
